Translation of Bobcat Service Cloud Cases

Following your feedback from previous VOD surveys, Bobcat is pleased to announce the launch of a new translation feature added to the Bobcat Service Cloud. The built-in translation feature is connected to Google Translate and will enable two-way translation between English and the following languages: French, German, Italian, Polish, or Spanish.

What will this look like?

  1. When you submit a new case written in one of the following languages, the case issue description, diagnosis/repair already done, and dealer request fields will be translated into English. This ensures that the Bobcat team can easily read and understand the information, facilitating a quicker response.
  2. When we reply to you, our comments will be automatically translated from English to the same language you used when submitting the case. This allows you to easily understand our feedback.
  3. When we publish knowledge articles, they will be available in all six languages for you to read in your preferred language.

For Bobcat, our internal view of the case is updated to include your original typed request and, additionally, the translation into English.

For your view in the Bobcat Service Cloud, you won’t see the translation; you’ll only see what you originally wrote. As for the case comments tab, we’ve made some small updates to the page layout to maximize space for comments and created three views that you can select yourself.

The 3 views are

  • Original view – all comments will be shown in the original language
  • Translation view – all comments will be translated to the user’s language setting
  • Dual-view – all comments will be displayed in 2 columns with both the original and translated comments side by side.

A drop-down menu will be available just above the comment table to select the view.

The default view, known as the Translated View, will display comments in your language, and the comments column will take up most of the page.

The Original View will display comments as written in a single column, occupying the majority of the page.

The Dual View will present comments in two columns, with the original language on the left and the translated comment on the right.

Knowledge Articles

The Knowledge Article table on the home page will display titles in your local language based on the settings you have chosen.

When you open the Knowledge article, all the fields and text will be in your local language as well.
