My Machine Guided Troubleshooting Updates

Bobcat has recently added several useful improvements to the Troubleshooting Guide in My Machine.

Search Functionality

The Search functionality has been updated following feedback we’ve received. The old search model was a flexible, accounting for potential mis-typed fault codes – but resulted in too many results being displayed. So we have changed the search to a more rigid model, and will only show the fault code that users are searching for. This means that if you mis-type a code, you may receive a message that no results were found. In such cases, you should double-check the fault code you have entered.

Example: for fault code M4404 – you will get 1 result:

And if you miss-typed this as M4044, you would get no results:

Request a guide

We have noticed a significant increase in the number of “Request a New Guide” incorrectly submitted, with troubleshooting related questions.

We want to clarify that the “Request a New Guide” feature is solely for requesting new guides when they do not exist in My Machine, and not for troubleshooting support.

Therefore, we have moved the “Request a New Guide” button from under the “Troubleshooting” heading. And the button will only appear if no results are found.

If you are not able to find a suitable guide, we understand you may still need to submit a troubleshooting request. For such cases, we have the “No Diagnostic Guide Available” option. To find this guide, search for “no guide”. However, it’s important to note that the usage of this guide will be monitored. If it is identified that a suitable guide existed, this will be noted during the case assessment and may impact your future DAR score.

We would also like to remind you that we have troubleshooting guides for symptoms as well as fault codes in My Machine. To this date we have over 200 of these types of guides, and we are continuously publishing new guides. To search for specific quides, use keywords such as fuel, noise, misalignment, etc.
